Randy Kuhl is one of the two remaining members of the New York delegation who is undecided about this vote on the House resolution opposing escalation in Iraq.
Yesterday, Kuhl voted against the two procedural moves required to bring the resolution up for consideration. Both of those were standard party-line votes and don't provide any insight into Kuhl's final vote.

Of course he is going to vote against the resolution. The million dollars in ads the Republicans gave for him, along with the President himself, the Vice President, and even Laura coming to help him out. Even on his web site it says that things are going well in Baghdad. Wouldn't it be something if he went with the resolution? That would really confuse his backers. What would Bob Lonsberry think?
My brother got an 'automated' phone call from Mr. Kuhl's office last night---saying that Mr. Kuhl is having a 'public hearing' right then, and if he wanted to participate he needed to 'press "1" '. My brother didn't. We were wondering if this was a way to poll the 29th to see how Kuhl should vote. Sad, isn't it, that our Representative is undecided on this NON-BLINDING issue.
Very interesting, Rich.
I posted about this at RochesterTurning.
I too, received one of the "automated" calls from Kuhl's office during the evening hours. Mine was a "sorry I missed you today" call telling me that I was not available for the "public townhall meeting". I had been home all day and not been on the phone. Don't know how I missed it and knowing how his regular townhall meetings work, I doubt my opinion would matter anyway.
I got the sorry I missed you call from Randy's bot last week -- I'm in the southern tier. Whether or not anyone takes part in the "meeting," or provides him with input, it seems to be a good way for him to campaign on the taxpayers dime. Theoretically he can show his openmindedness and concern directly to every voter in his district and not have to leave his office in Washington.
Well, they will be effective!
