The Democrat and Chronicle carries an
op-ed by a local lung association official which urges Randy Kuhl to co-sponsor legislation (
HR 1108) authorizing the Food and Drug administration to regulate cigarettes. This issue was addressed
here earlier, and Eric Massa commented on it in a
press conference last month.
Congressional Quarterly
reports that Eric Massa is one of the recipients of donations from Speaker Nancy Pelosi's leadership PAC. According to
FEC filings, she gave him $2,500.

This is very interesting... almost all of the money that has gone to Nancy Pelosi's PAC is from those "evil" corporate PACs that Massa is so keen on stating that he won't accept.
In the last quarter, the PAC to the Future (ha) received $284,000 from PACs including some labor unions and associations and these gigantic corporations:

Massa hasn't violated his PAC pledge, which if you're going to raise the millions it takes to run for Congress, is about all you can expect. That said, I think you know a hell of a lot better than what you're trying to peddle here.
The function of a leadership PAC is to give the "leader" some juice. Pelosi, not Microsoft or Viacom, or any of those others, just did Massa a solid. So the question for Massa supporters is whether they think that's a good thing or a bad thing. Viacom isn't going to call up Massa and tell him that he owes them because they gave Pelosi a few bucks. Pelosi might.
