A good schedule but, let's face it, Randy's is more ambitious and more "citizen-like" (note the number of nonpartisan appearances at Kiwanis dinners, a community turkey dinner, etc.). This is Randy at his best, practicing 'retail' politics. In the end, it's why I think he will make it thru again. If I were Massa, i would be WALKING Liberty St. in Bath, campaigning and greeting "regular" citizens, not just party faithful.
Massa is cheering on his phone bankers. He has also spent the last three days in Southern Tier so I'm not sure what left to hit. He obviously felt the need to try to cut into Kuhl's strength down south.
Also, I have noticed more Kuhl, repub ads on Rochester network TV than Kuhl. Anyone else notice similar?
I also just looked at the Massa schedule from the weekend. Yeah, he was in the Southern Tier but, especially on Saturday, did several things with his own volunteers at his offices. I'm just wondering how many swing voters are hanging out at Massa's Corning HQ. Seems like it would have been better if Massa had done a business walk or door to door or how about that Halloween thing that Kuhl did.
Of course, who the hell knows what Randy did. His schedule was either super vague or Rotten was holding back on us!

The media is in love with swing voters, but the time for courting them is done. Right now campaigns are getting out the vote with their base. That's why Massa's at his campaign HQ.
You've seen everything I know about Randy's schedule. His campaign just doesn't share as much detail.
Disagree completely about the value of thanking volunteers personally. I was phonebanking in Horseheads on Sunday with about 6 other volunteers. Eric came by to thank us at the end of the day, and ask that we consider doing just a bit more in the coming few days. That inspired me to re-post the volunteering opportunities on a statewide blog with an appeal, direct from Massa, to pitch in (who knows whether people went and did more GOTV calls or not, but they may well have). I bet some of those other volunteers are back making more calls, too. Swing voters mostly decide before election day. Election day is about getting every possible supporter to the polls. With volunteers.
